Welcome to a NEW YEAR that we pray will be full of new opportunities, new mindsets and new beginnings!
Our theme for this year is Mission: Possible! As such, we encourage every single member not only to memorize, but also to try to exemplify our mission that the 40+ Double Dutch Club is a UNIFIED SISTERHOOD that exists to empower women in mental health and physical fitness all while inspiring them in friendship, fitness, fun and fellowship.
When we updated the Mission Statement to include “UNIFIED SISTERHOOD” we did so because we want to make sure to focus on the importance of unity. We realize that we can accomplish more and have more impact if we have a unified purpose and work together- not separately. Unity occurs when people are united in action and energy for the common cause of the kingdom of God. When this occurs different gifts, talents, and blessings become connected and integrated, and the result is an amazing release of divine power that achieves and accomplishes the impossible!
Unity does not need to be created; it simply needs to be protected - and it MUST be visible to the world. God wants us to love each other so much and be so unified that when the world sees us and how we stick together – they will want what we have. With so much division over so many things, our ability to be unified, even when we don’t agree - is what will set us apart. This kind of unity doesn’t happen naturally. It comes from above. As we experience God’s love for us, it leads us to love other believers with pure, unselfish motives. We stop trying to push ourselves to the top and begin submitting to God and to one another.
As we enter into the 8th year of this 40+ Double Dutch Club MOVEMENT, we have experienced growth that we never could have orchestrated or imagined. Growth- first in depth and maturity, and then in impact- is the natural result of faithfulness to God, love for others, engagement with the community, and discipline in leading this ministry. But with growth, change is inevitable- and sometimes change is painful. Personally, my preference is to leave things the way they are. I like being comfortable. But my comfort is not God’s primary concern- nor is it going to help me or this movement to continue to grow. And God is interested in our growth. He desires to see us bloom, to produce a harvest and to bear fruit.
The 40+ Double Dutch Club experienced some challenging times and Catrina and I were pushed to make some difficult decisions in 2023. This year, we plan to continue to follow God’s direction, even when we don’t understand. We may not always be able to see the path but we are walking by faith, not sight trusting that God will give us the grace and strength to weather whatever storms come our way. And we thank all of you who believe in us and in the vision that God entrusted us with back in 2016 that has connected ALL of us in this sisterhood that has impacted so many of our lives! We know that if we continue to work together and don’t lose sight of the BIG PICTURE- our Mission IS possible!!!
Blessings upon Blessings in 2024💜🦋❤

ALL RIGHTY THERE!!! A UNMET NEED INDEED
Thank you so much for sharing!!! Yes! We have an amazing group of women in Evergreen Park! This is exactly how ALL of our meetups should operate- and our prayer is that every woman who attends one of our meetups anywhere in the world experiences the same thing! Welcome to the Club- where many come for the fun but stay for the Sisterhood!!! 🥰🥰
Tonight my experience at the Evergreen Park subgroup was everything you speak of in this post. It was my very first attendance at any sub club, and this group of women made quite an impression on me. They could not have made me feel more welcome than they did tonight and this wasn't from just a small handful of ladies. There had to be eight or nine of them that really went out of their way to teach me how to jump and encouraged me to persevere and cheered me on. When I finally was able to jump, it was probably eight consecutive jumps before my calves gave out on me. Before that, I had attempted probably half a dozen times and failed and would walk toward the wall but and then a different one would take the rope and wave me back to try it again and tell me to look at her. If I didn't succeed with that guidance, then another one would jump in and take the rope and try explaining it to me a different way until one gal literally held both my hands and told me to look at her and jump with her just holding hands without using a rope and that's when I finally got it! I don't know if this group of women have always operated like the well oiled machine I saw this evening or if they became this way after really meditating and whole heartedly embracing your vision for unity in a sisterhood of faith that you write about in this post. Either way, I thought you ought to know that they could not have embodied the principles you speak about in this post more than what I experienced this evening. Usually in a group like this you have two or three or four main people who take the lead and everybody else kind of follows but in this group it seemed over 2/3 of them played a very active role contributing to the mission for the evening. They reminded me about when Paul writes about the body of Christ, and the hands have this purpose and the feet have another purpose and no one bodily function is more noble than the other, but that they all serve a unique purpose that contributes to the body functioning as a whole. That's exactly what this group of ladies were like. They all seem to shine in their own special way, whether it be the itty-bitty 73-year-old woman who just kept hugging me every time she saw me or three different younger ones who were showing me the steps of the various line dances or some of the others who wouldn't let me go sit on the wall, but kept inviting me back into jump or the one uniquely gifted in vocal praise music. And this is the moment I wish you could've been a fly in the wall in that room because the one thing you write about in your post is that you wanted the watching world to observe this organization and want what it is that they have which is A loving fellowship of faith, and as that lovely woman was singing and praising the Lord I noticed movement near the ceiling and as I glanced up, I realized something I hadn't noticed earlier and that is the existance of a window from the hallway of the second floor that allows people to open it and look down on the goings on in the room below and this woman who opened it was probably in her late 30s and she stretched out her arm to hold that window open wide as she looked down at the circle of women below waving their arms in praise as the vocalist sang, and I just wish you could've seen the look on her face as she was taking it all in... She watched this sub group praising the Lord with the biggest smile on her face, and when I looked up at her and into her eyes, it was as if she knew me, and she knodded her head affirmingly up and down, smiling Joyfully, but also expressing a little little bit of awe at what she was observing. It was clear she was a regular attender in that building and that she had never seen anything like this happening there before or at least that's how I interpreted it because she was pretty jaw dropped. It was just a beautiful moment, and I wish you could've been there to see it. Teenagers were coming up to the glass wall on our level and looking with great interest as we lifted our hands and praise as the vocalist poured out her heart to the Lord. I never heard of this group until I googled my favorite activity back in October after a friend told me I need to rekindle my love for some of the activities I enjoyed in my youth, never thinking I'd actually find an adult group of jump ropers, but was delighted to learn that one did exist and it's turned out to be exactly what I needed at this time in my life and more. Thank you so much for this ministry as I feel it's meeting a previously unrecognized and unmet need.
Amen. God will never steer you in the wrong direction. 🙏🏽
